The older engines were pretty lazy, but the new ones are pretty peppy! More so when you take off the DPF and tune them to 500hp :)
Does all that go through the back axle? Must be some strain on when towing?

My 200bhp Ford Ranger will easily spin the rear tyres when towing. Especially on uphill starts. That's why i went for the auto so i could feed the power in better.

Yes, all through the rear axle but they seem to be built to handle it. From new the 6.7L puts out 440bhp and 925ft lbs torque. My 6.4 only had 350 but up to about 430bhp now, that's plenty for me. A few guys tune them to well over 500 and drag race them, need to be in 4x4 to get away.
They are a fairly heavy truck (8000lb +) empty, so traction is actually pretty good but they tend to sink pretty quick in a muddy field....I know from experience.

So, F150 with the 3.0 V6 diesel to the UK please Ford. You know you want to!!! Give Nissan and VW something to think about

They announce stuff ridiculously early over there at Ford US. I mean, the 3.5 'Powerstroke' diesel will not see the light of day until Spring 2018, which is a year and three months hence at the earliest. Great news is that it will be manufactured at Dagenham and will almost certainly be a derivative of that used in the current Range Rovers.

Also to be seen in the video is the duplex timing chain used in their V6 petrol engines. I only saw a simplex chain in the V8, although only a glimpse is shown of each engine's timing gear.

Ford sold nearly 900,000 of F150 trucks in 2016, making it the best selling car and truck in the USA for the 36th [I think] year running. Its nearest best seller is the Toyota Camry with about a third of the F150's sales if I remember correctly.
