This is what happens when everyone tups an extra 50-100 ewes to get more lambs because the price is crap, then it ends up a vicious circleTo be honest lambs are doing v badly, if you take the value of sterling into account? Surely we should be seeing some real improvements.
I don't think it bodes well going forward
Yes pay to 22, we had blue faced Leicester sired lambs on the lorry today, no fuss!! As long as there in spec O2 or better!Have heard farmers fresh have altered their grid for the better. Pay to 22 and take mules now. Is this all true anyone know?
Hasn't the national flock grown by 2% ? apparently there was 5000 lambs in welshpool today I really thought the numbers forward would be slowing up by now, looking at the beef price compared to the lambs people would be better off bulling some heifers instead of lambing ewesThis is what happens when everyone tups an extra 50-100 ewes to get more lambs because the price is crap, then it ends up a vicious circle

I've been thinking about buying cows with calves and fattening the cow, I cant see myself wanting to calve cows just yet, I'm still wondering about doing black and white bulls with buitelaarYou'll have to get yourself some nice bulling heifers
I'd be more inclined to finish cows than black and white bulls...they'll certainly finish a lot quickerI've been thinking about buying cows with calves and fattening the cow, I cant see myself wanting to calve cows just yet, I'm still wondering about doing black and white bulls with buitelaar
Keep your hand up long enough and you'll soon have a yard fullIn an ideal world I'd go and buy some nice pure lim stores and sell them in the fat for mega money like yourself at least you've got something nice to look at

Probably a hell of a lot of suckler cow herds around here have either gone or reduced probably a few ex dairy boys keeping sheep now as wellHere in the SW (& I imagine that Wales is similar) there is a fairly big reason for the increase in sheep numbers...... TB!
Folk are reducing cattle numbers and increasing sheep.
They will make far more in the store ring!just weighed the smallest ,surprised me 434kg so about £700 ?
