My thought process is the girl I'm speaking too,Dad need something thrown at him and I get to much homework[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
Pretty much sums it up[emoji15]
Technically a FORDSON Major isn't a Ford, it's a Fordson, why not give him the DB equivalent, majors came out in 1951 so the DB equivalent would be a cropmaster? Or a 25D etc?Thats already planned
the youngster will get given an old non livedrive major for his 16th....and get sent out for a few days ploughing, when he comes back pee'd off and sick of having to press the brakes to keep grip, not having any draft control or live hydraulics, il throw him the keys to the 990 and say "there you are, now try a decent tractor
with any luck, he wont go near a ford again
Most folks in the first world would go get the telehandler and use that.First world problems them
im currently sat wondering how im going to reach the 20ft high yard light and change the bulb tommorrow
i dont like ladders, the bloody pole wobbles about too much anyway for propping a ladder up it
but i do have a high tip trailer and a good bale of straw...
you can see what im thinking

Yea but majors came out in 1951 so what DB was from then? 900 wasn't released until 1956 then the 950 came out in 1958 so what DBS where about in 1951?actually, it would be a 950
which was also superior, having draft control, livedrive, tcu, and this little thing called a diff lock
none of which a bog standard major from 1958 had

At least if you had a 30D you could get 3 or 4 weans on the bench seat30D....which also had TCU, a bit like MF pressure control
Compared to the up/down hydraulics on a major, it gave it the ability to pull an extra furrow in most conditons
Ever come across the case cs series ?I have a 1997 new holland 8340 best thing I have bought yet! She has done 6700ish hours and still pulls like no tomorrow! And I haven't even had her opened up! She will do 55k flat! Quick little thing! The only issue I have had so far is my lower link sensing pin. One was sheared and one is hanging by a thread thay are £400 ago! Very comfy to drive or tho you will find your self kicking back a few gears when you approach a hill. Only driven a 5150 plus was a nice machine but cab was to small for a fat lad like my self . I haven't used one to pull any trailers it was a quick run down the road so can't really say much on the 5150 side. I fell in love with my mates 7840 and since then I've wanted the 8340.
Och it could've been worse,Yes! I hate ladders since we were building the shed and I got hit with a steel beam and fell 12 ish feet onto my back with a ladder on top of me was out coldI hate ladders now!!!!!

Why what did google tell me?Not with the 30d series 2, which did away with the scuttle and bench seat, as the pan seat gave better visibilty
bet google didnt tell you that

As said ask a friendly neighbour. I've done it for others and had help myself on such jobs. Money never changes hands a favour is always worth much more. And it's more neighbourly as well.and when you havent got a telehandler, or anyone safe enough to drive it while your in the basket????
Sitting in the 14 and pulling a spool back is simple enough for grandfather to do...the tipping ram isnt plugged in so he cant go wrong
No comparison
by the time the ford man has re-calibrated his gearbox the deere will have done half a days work already
