got a nice heifer and steer ( lim x blue) thinking about saving them for the fat stock class at Christmas, I know it's early but never done it before, normally sell as stores. What should I be feeding at the moment? And how much? When should it be increased? Any other advice much appreciated. Cheers

Tie them up now while they are little,

Second that!!! Tie them up now, and lead them round the yard so they're quiet. Keep brushing them too so you get a nice coat. And wash them now and again too so they're quiet! As for feeding, we feed a 13% show mix until August time then put them on a 16% mix and add oats and some beet nuts as well after that. Just feed nice straw in a ring feeder, don't give them any silage.

Shouldn't your protein be the other way around? I have young stock on 16% then drop to 13% to put a finish on them.
