Nissan navara, engine oil level rising......?

As above really, my navara seems to have started generating its own engine oil,
It had a service a couple of months ago at which time the correct amount of oil was put in, on Monday we took six litres of 'oil' out of the engine to get it back down to the correct level.
It's not water in the oil.
Can diesel find its way into the sump?
Has anyone had this problem?

What engine btw?

The DPF warning light has come on, that's what made me have a look round. We don't do a lot of mileage, and I admit I hadn't checked the oil level since the service

Failing Regen's add oil to the sump. Drive the truck on some longer runs so it can clean the filter before it'd blocked and a dealer forced Regen is your only option.

I dont know the engine but where are the obvious diesel leak into sump parts??
Can injectors leak into the pistons
Any return pipes in the head or rocker cover?

That's the question I hope will get answered.
When she's running, she seems fine, not smokey, not short of power most of the time, I did have to move into the slow lane on the M6 the other night when power seemed to drop off, but it corrected itself and that, along with the DPF light is what triggered the investigation.
At the time of loss of speed I couldn't decide if it was engine or transmission (it's an auto) problem, which has just made me think, is there any way transmission lube can get into the sump?

Is there a light on the dash to say when is having a regen?
