VAT Return

Just been on the hmrc site to do my return and I find that in future after I log in they will send a code to my mobile which I have to add to the login process.
Needless to say, I have to drive 2 miles down the cwm in order to get a signal.
Guess I will have to visit the little one's house in order to do it.
Do you think I could add my mileage costs to my vat repayment?!!!

No but I find online VAT returns very easy to do and if it adds a layer of sensible security to the system for my benefit and their's , I think it's a good step.

Interesting talking to someone in Iceland and their mobile coverage and broadband speeds seem to be much better than ours. Personally, I feel that UK Gov is placing too much faith in Openreach for the roll-out of high speed / fibre across the country and particularly rural areas

I did my VAT return yesterday and asked for my mobile to be used for the login process.

I can't remember now but doesn't it give you the option to receive your login code via a landline?

I used live & go to school there, good old days when we had proper land mines to keep 'em out.
I used to go pig up weaners from an outdoor herd there. Bottom of a hill . Pigs on red soil. I used to take them to a fattening farm at Ewelme in Oxfordshire. The wheel nuts of the F86 used to ride up the banks of the road getting down that lane

You not with EE or Vodafone? Both I'm sure support wi-fi calling now and txts will come through the wifi. Unfortunately it does require a recent smartfone supported for said system.

What is the point of a smartphone when I spend most of my time outside any signal area? OH and I have old payg phones each which get switched on when setting out outside the cwm.
