+2 now, after info not being there it suddenly appears the next day :scratchhead: so cracked on and got it sorted with blind optimism, still not had this years a s yet :(

Also wanted to change a field name as they have amalgamated 2 together, but couldn't see how to
I've just started this thread: https://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index...rpa-incorrect-bps-land-parcel-mergers.162404/ after reading the NFU newsletter saying the RPA have amalgamated a nimber of parcels on their own this year and, if they are wrong, we have until March 17th to submit an RLE1 to get them split again in time for this years application :banghead:

well a load of ineligable features have gone missing on my fields so thanks Holwellcourtfarm for getting me to check. Not that i now wish i had :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I am not sure why they need to resense this stuff every year and then blanket approve them all without checking if the wood they are removing or the pond that had dried up as it had been dry has actually gone despite the background map on the BPS website still showing them :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I was happy they had amalgamated mine, it was an 80 acre field that has gone from 4 x 20 to a 60 + 20 to now a complete 80 acre field, I'd tried to get it into one for a few years, but was told it couldn't be done, looks like it can if they want to

I have had to alter a few bits, mysterious permeant pasture has appeared in little parcels in fields, but just deleted them and added the area back onto the main part of the field

I've got ditch banks now classed as permanent pasture.

Hmm, thats interesting, I did 2 and left 2 to see if anything was picked up
I'm not worried, it's the canal bank, I'm not allowed to touch it anyway. I guess it gets added to the UK permanent pasture pot, which means we are less likely to get told off for ploughing permanent pasture up.

We hope!

Hopefully the PP craziness is one thing that can be sorted once we fully leave the EU.

Half our farm is classed as PP despite being reseeded every 3 years or so. It's all ryegrasses.

Trying to make a start with 2017 bps. can anyone get beyond the "Start Now" page on Update your rural payment details. When trying to load all i get is the message "this site cant be reached" is the site perhaps not as ready as they claim?
Could be that you don't have the proper authority.
Are you a Manager by any chance? Or anything other than that actual owner/Farmer?
Managers are a category they no longer accept. Ring RPA and ask them to change you to Agent.

Sorry people but, application done and dusted
+1

Would have liked to rename a field but couldn't do it online.

Also wish their View land and Edit Land Uses could be done on the same page

Other than that, the best system we've had for ever and ever imo.

Can we still email RPA to add missing land parcels this year?
I can find last years information on how to do it (2016 hints & tips page 18) but cant find any dated 2017
Missing field was on the system before Christmas but missing now.

Looked at this years maps as its raining.

2 roadside verges now down as land parcels of permanent pasture. Maybe we'll go back to tethering the cattle on them.
A watercourse and its sloping banks now defined as an extremely long and thin arable land parcel. Watercress????
A bit fenced off in the corner of a grass field as a sheep pen redefined as separate arable land parcel.
Some field areas now bigger than we or the "ministry man" have ever measured them on the ground or with mapping magic or with the sprayer.

Why, when and how did this happen? First I have heard of it.

Wasn't it a bit unwise to make changes unilaterally without any consultation with landowners?

This on top of last years application being deemed non compliant for reasons unknown.

Difficult to know where to start as RPA seem completely incommunicado and unable to provide any evidence of why last years claim was non compliant.

I'll probably just bang this years application in ignoring the spurious land parcels. We don't have the entitlements to cover them anyway.

welcome to the world of remote sensing, i am not sure who writes the algorithm but i hope they don;t pay them much. Hopefully getting my Permenant ineligeble features put back in that the remote sensing removed shortly

Agent has found missing field number 1......it has been put onto one of our neighbours' claims. Both use same agent. Neither had asked RPA to change any fields. So perhaps they will put it back and pay me the ELS money they refused to send in October as apparently I didnt own the field any more.
