BPS 2017 help thread

The most frustrating thing is that we haven't had a single meaningful reply to any of our queries over the last 2 months. All we get are automated replies thanking us for our enquiries.

And while issues remain unresolved from last year we cannot proceed with this year's application with any confidence.

For us the RPA performance during his past 12 months is the worst we have seen.

Can't like that. ^^^^. But have to agree. In fact the only reply we have ever had from RPA in twelve months has gone to our MP.
Four signed for letters and one phone call - ignored.
Appalling.

My application summery is saying NO to the question, do i have enough EFA and NO to the three crop rule, despite it saying that i have 6 crops and twice as much hedge meters than required. Any thoughts as to why?

I think it did this last year if you still had undeclared items on your claim.
Yes thanks.
I realised there was a small area of undeclared land. It's actually a bit of land that's been given to the village for recreation, but despite sending in RL1E form last year , it hasn't been taken off permanently, so I was just not declaring it.

Sorry if this has been posted earlier,

Just started doing our BPS application today, the first time i've done one on my own, but have a couple of questions:

I've entered our current cropping which consist of 4 crops of similar areas (Winter wheat, WOSR, Winter Barley and Spring Barley), yet when I generated a report, it says the Crop Diversification Rule has not been met?

Also, I want to take our EFA away from N fixing crops and onto hedge rows, in which section do we do this, do I add a feature on the cropping screen or do I get the fields list with maps up and draw them onto the maps?

TIA

Have you done what i did, and left a bit of land undeclared.
I rang the RPA and they must have the ability to see what you've done, as the techy bloke said what I'd done, which resolved it.

Yes, 2 tiny pieces undeclared, i just been reading through and that seems to be the problem...will rectify that tomorrow,

Just need help on the hedges now, how to go about it
I did all that last year. Just get your head around what's an adjacent hedge, a half hedge or full hedge, and a hedge can be both a half and an adjacent hedge at the same time.:scratchhead:

So do I have to manually measure the hedge lengths from the paper maps or do it online?

...if on paper, that maybe a problem as RPA still have them from last years dispute
I used the online measuring tool. I'm ok though , as have twice as many hedges as I need .

You can also remove land parcels on the rural payments system in the "land"
section -"transfer land". There's a drop down menu this year to simply remove ( last year we had to delete it to a dummy SBI). I'm not sure if this updates the land use though so you still might have an undeclared notification.

Haven't received my bps claim forms yet should I be concerned (always have paper forms) or is it all online now?

If you claimed on line last year, there is no paper option.

I've just got an email, wishing me happy Easter (Not really)
It asked 'How are you getting on?" and pointed out that 10,000 applications had already been received.

I'm tempted to reply, sort out the missing entitlements from 2016, and I'd get on a whole lot better.
But you can't swear at a machine can you.
