Dull paint

Hello people.
We're wondering what product would any one recommend to put the shine and colour back into faded and dulled paintwork.
Thanks.
R.

This is the stuff, brilliant , use it dry no splats and so fast we use this brand on our paintwork even the wax will last 6months on the paint also so offers some protection.

Try a wipe of TFR (traffic film remover) detergent on a clean cloth?
A lot less hassle than compounding it ........

Dont use household stuff as there is corrosive in it and your bodywork mate will have a hissy fit if he hears

Sorry to hijack this,

Was using a weak solution of TFR mixed in a bucket of water cleaning the Redrock tanker at the end of last year and it's taken the whole gloss off it.

Any way to sort this?

Used the same solution washing everything else and had no trouble at all, spoils the look of the tanker

We had the same trouble on a white van, but thought the detergent solution (not TFR) was to strong.
Not sure of a solution, but did you try neat TFR on a cloth?
Best to do a test piece (underneath) first.

We did a couple of tractors using a polisher from machine mart that cost about £80 using an ordinary car polish and it was amazing how it brought up the paint. They come up like new now when they are washed and I think 90% of it just comes from the polishing not the actual polish used.

Update on my end, gave an area a polish with just autoglym super resin and it's brought it up shiny again, it may have been the sun that made it go dull,
Will take a fair bit of polishing to bring the paint back to life

a plant hire mate uses neat cleaner , on a cloth , when washing stuff , I think TFR ( I know he was told not to use it neat as its a mild acid when he bought the stuff ) it does bring it clean / shiny BUT the paints all looking dull now year or to later , I would not use it neat .

NEVER wash anything that is hot warm or in bright sunshine with TFR also never let it dry before washing off it will take the lustre out of any paint.
You can buy TFR without caustic that's far kinder to paint work, also always wet whatever your cleaning first before applying the TFR.
The more caustic the harder it will clean but you will end up with dull paint.
