Latest Fendt VarioTerminal/VarioGuide SW updates?

Location

Would anyone be able to list feature updates on the VarioTerminal screen since November 2015? Fendt web sites seem to cover changes up to this date.

We service all tractors at home but cannot take care of SW updates obviously. I tend to remember seeing that at least the option to enter A-B line coordinates manually has been added "lately", also the nearest field can be selected instead of browsing the complete list in alphabetical order.

Any pointers for updated data or just direct list (probably very limited feature updates)?

Hi have took some pic's you can see the varioguide screen and have all so took picture of quick jump so if you select the screen on the right hand side e.g. Rear power lift press and old one of the quick jump buttons that will save the the rear power lift on that button so you don't have to go through all the pages very helpfull

Looks like a nice update. I practised how to change my screen to English so I can change the French one on wednesday
Hope the plane trip over isn't too bad Richard. You will enjoy the show I think. Good spread as usual.

Stopped by the AGCO stand again today and took some time to a) change the screen language to English ;) and b) have a bit more of a proper play myself (rather than having some poor French AGCO bloke trying to explain in his best English the latest updates). Context sensitive help was pretty empty that I could find.

Looking forward to the show and a few days around Paris. Going to Germany and fendt factory also. Going to show today and tomorrow. Been 16 years since the last visit. Plane was as same as usual.

Looks a nice update on the screen. Lots of useful features and time saving stuff I think. We are having variable rate added as well which looks easy enough to use also

I had the VarioGuide (and other) SW finally updated. Now running 7.81.

I faced one small issue and one major problem. Haven't had any opportunity to check from the dealer if they know anything about this.

The major issue is that I have no GLONASS satellites, or at least by the total number of observed satellites I assume only GPS is used (I should check this from the serial port log file). There used to be a screen showing GPS and GLONASS separately, perhaps deleted now that receivers may support more constellations?

The minor issue is that I get this error message at start-up:
Capture2.JPG

At least I assume it is a minor issue, don't know really because I don't use ISOBUS. Couldn't figure out anything from the VarioTerminal ISOBUS settings that might allow getting rid of that message.

Any suggestions to fix these issues would be welcome. I could try it during the week-end. Actually might need help from the forum to be forwarded to our dealer.

I should add that GLONASS was fine just before the update and it is still fine on our AGCO AutoGuide 3000 setup (with December 2016 SW) running from the same RTK base.

No idea about the glonass but I'll check mine again in the morning as I have been running latest update for a week now.

With the other ut problem go to the fuse website, start a conversation online with them and get an email address to send the picture to. They should be able to advise of a solution.

I have a problem where it won't steer when doing contours. It's glitchy and doesn't work. Fine on straight lines

I think you are correct about the satellite count mine is the same on ntrip rtk. The 1st varioguide screen on mine says 7 gnss satellites. So I think it is just counting the ones it is using.

I don't get the iso bus warning with the same software. Think the auxiliary in is to do with either terminal or joystick.

There have been problems with this update and topcon receivers. If your a b lines freeze there is a patch that needs to be put on. Also check that the correct receiver has been selected.

If you put the ISO bus screen in top right then make it bigger then press the settings button the you should see terminal priority it will say external terminal set that to vario terminal should sort it

Thank you so much, one glitch fixed. Great members make a great forum.

Odd that the service guy was not aware of that patch, my understanding is that 7.81 has been available quite some time.

I picked up a few screenshots with Topcon TRU, seems like GLONASS satellites are tracked but not used for (RTK) positioning. I wonder if it appears because of a foreign brand RTK base. I think it was 2012 or 2013 when the VarioGuide receiver failed to find an RTK fix unless a Topcon base was used. Feels like the receiver now finds a fix with GPS only but cannot extend it to cover GLONASS.

Should AGCO service have this patch that you mentioned or should I request it via FUSE (have not used FUSE support before)? Would they need the diagnosis tool to apply the patch or could Topcon TRU take care of it?

Would it be possible to go back to an older TOPDOC/VarioGuide SW release while maintaining the VarioTerminal SW as it is? Just another option perhaps if the local service cannot fix it with a patch.

I have not worked with the tractor since the SW update but I did quickly test an A-B line and a curved line. Difficult to say about the accuracy but steering was quite "nervous" even if I adjusted sensitivity lower. The service guy insisted on taking care of the steering angle sensor calibration. Perhaps they were aware of those A-B line problems and made sure it would not come from poor steering angle sensor calibration.

No probs will try and find some info on other glitch

I know my dealer has had a number of issues with this software. Including mine which was installed this week. It is 7.81 I checked this week. my understanding is that the glitch only affects topcon recievers. There is a tickbox on the installation software that selects either new or old receivers.
My tractor did have the problem even though the patch had been installed to start with. The guidance seems to be working correctly and then after a field change all the waylines froze and I could do nothing with the guidance. At one point the computer would not shut down even with the ignition turned off. A re-installation worked for me and everything is now ok.
