Can am 450 here now for couple months and no issues at all. Like it a lot over last bike, only thing it misses is a horn!

Ok on fuel, and plenty enough power. Rack load tolerance is excellent. Had a slug pelleter full with 100kg of Fert on it and no problems.

Engine braking is excellent.

Not noticed lack of power, it flies up our steep stuff fine enough.

The 570 is a very quiet bike though compared to the 450.
can't say i get that rideing a quad HAHAHA

Own a can-am 450 here which broke our sequence of 3 Suzuki king quad 500s in a row. The can-am has more grunt than the 500 Suzuki , it literally pulls away from our old bike. It's a very lively bike. There is different specs so I would check what's what first. Ours has power steering and large alloy wheels which help keep the brakes clear of muck etc. Fuel economy is alright but I think it actually takes a little bit more than the larger suzukis. I hear the next one up is much quieter but I wouldn't have a problem with the noise of it. It's not quiet but it's not deafening loud either.

Ours did have a breakdown when only a month or two old , it had a faulty injector that stuck but it was taken away and repaired straight away and we were given a replacement quad while the repair was carried out so top marks to our dealer for that. All done on warranty (which is 3 years) so can't complain to much.

The Suzuki king quads are very good bikes as well to be fair. You wouldn't go wrong with either in my opinion.

Glad you like it.
They'll put a horn on at first service if you ask them.

It's already had the service but was going to pop and see them at the show tomorrow to see what ideas they have.

Just towed the empty sheep trailer with it, all be it in concrete, did not seem to mind it.

No problems from what I know... but everyone on here says they are noisy and a bit gutless. If your buying a CanAm the 570 is the only one to buy. But it's very thirsty.
I had an 800R on demo for a fortnight and it was indescribable
Could pop the front wheels up at 80kmh :wideyed: and keep them there-- but pretty much overkill. 650 is getting quite popular over here too for the blokes who tow bale buggies around mountains, shorten the drawbar as much as possible (y) saves the squat effect (like a ewe seeing a tup stroll up)

Fuel cost is the problem over here... or I'd have a 700-1000 bike no problems.

Big bikes are the future, though. Yamaha and AC (or whatever they will be called now) already have basic 700cc bikes which beat the 500's on price...

I must admit, I don't use a fraction on 100 acres than on 1250! 40km average per day in this

definitely put the boss's fuel bill up.
Now it does 40km a month (y) and I walk more often. :D shame buying your own fuel.

New Honda 500 is too slow to put in reverse, can't move cattle easily. very jerky gear changes and poor turning circle. Fairly quiet & comfy though.
Wouldn't touch a 420 or another Honda to be honest.

can am 570 pro is noisy, revvy and too angry.. you'd get sea sick start stopping whilst running ewes up a road. Fast, powerful & comfy but too much bike for most.

Yamaha is well built, expensive, doesn't have a handy park brake and 700 cc is unnecessarily thirsty. 450 engine is too small for the size of the bike. (Too big)

Sukuki 750 getting good reports around here, I'll probably try one next.
Rekon re-sale value would be the worst though.

Polaris have always been rubbish.

We have had Suzuki King Quads, and 2 Arctic Cats (old 300 petrol, and currently a diesel) all IRS, alongside trailing rear arm Kawasaki's, Suzuki's and Honda's. IRS is superior - only rigid axel which came close was the Suzuki Eiger.

IMO it is the Honda dimensions which let it down. Arctic Cat and Polaris full size bikes have a much wider track-width, with stronger springs/higher ratings. The new ones also come with sway bars. This all adds to stability (and increased ground clearance), an area where Honda has always struggled IME.
A wider quad wouldn't fit on this farm.

snap have one here too cool toy
also have 2 650s a G1 and a G2 both good bikes
Yeah, I would get a quad as an extra, but I wouldn't get rid of this machine!
When we shifted here, I drove it from Tokanui to Owaka up that windy coast road.
Beat my wife in the ute, by 15 minutes, not counting 3 stops for smokes and pictures!
Wouldn't even consider doing that on a quad.
Bit noisy inside with both the doors but I often just have the passenger one on to stop the draft.
650 is what I would get too (y)
