As I said earlier I've been doing my own bailing for a long time now so I'm out of touch...he did say customer puts the diesel in though...

Baler cost
4 turns of net or bale explodes cost.(Unless you want to feed bales that look like bags of pus, then 2 turns is plenty)

£7 per bale for 6 layers my diesel. +50p if chopped. Mowing and raking for £17 an acre which I get someone else to do.
I think that's cheap, and definitely cheaper than chopping your average second cut. Over 2 cuts pit is not much less and clamp wastage is far higher. Also, you can cut a field when it's ready instead of waiting for 100 acres and the contractor to finish elsewhere first.
