Can you fit a nut sert / rivet nut to it???
Or fibre glass and redrill

Not easy to rivet nut as it's now just a plastic tube.

Could fill and redrill but that's a bodge too far....may as well buy a new cover. Internal door latch cover on Case 5150 door - probably not silly money to replace...but just seems a waste to throw away something that looks fine but doesn't attach properly.

Will find out a price on Monday.

I use polyurethane glue all the time (foamy glue) It has many uses & one of the many in this market is Gorilla glue. It was originally from the shoe industry. It is gap filling & quick setting. It glues wood to stone & is good for those irritating rawl plugs that just don't want to stay in the wall. I have a water spray thingy for stuff that's too dry so it bonds better.
It isn't as strong as resin and is different to trad white wood glue but in all honesty I use it the most in my every-day work.
Don't be tempted to buy a huge pot, a small pot will go a long way and as it has a shelf life you won't end up with a solid un-useable mass in the bottom of your pot.
I do a lot of wood-work repairs & it's good in this field.

Thanks for the heads up on that. It sounds ideal stuff for holding curtain poles in place ( i.e. Rawl plugs pulling out )

Now I remember real Rawlplugs, the fiberous ones, they never pulled out, specially when fitted into a hole "drilled" the old way with a hammer struck Rawlplug.
Used to have biceps, right arm only,(and no sniggering down the back there!) like Popeye, I did, from that particular exercise and sawing gritty dry hawthorn with a knackered rusty Bowsaw .

Thanks guys! I return to this thread after 101 quotes and mentions thinking it's super popular an expecting some useful advice and top tips....

I ask because I saw an advert on TV last night for it and it said it sticks wood to stone to glass to plastic etc.

I've got a plastic "cover" with recessed three bolt holes in but the recessed hole is now bigger so the shoulder of the bolt won't hold it and it goes straight through.

First thought - buy another cover
Second thought - could use a washer and non recessed bolt, but would look untidy
Saw advert and thought if it's really strong enough, I could glue a washer to the back of the panel, thus bolting the washer, which is then glued to the cover.

Will this botch hold...and be the first of many Gorilla Glue masterpieces....or will I end up having to buy a new cover anyway so may as well not waste time botching now?

just do a 3D scan of part, fix the worn part, convert to G-code and print it out on the 3D printer

Priced up the new part - £60.24 + VAT. Making me think about trying out a DIY repair first.

@Cowabunga would Tiger Seal be any use or not on this please?

Thanks @Dry Rot very interesting, using the see through masking tape .............
We would "chance" a small bit of Isopon P40 (chopped fiber-glass) for that repair, drilling and heavily scoring the surfaces as in the video. It just dries a bit brittle, so no movement in it............
That 3M stuff will be expensive, especially for a one-off fix ...............

Clear mastik for the curtain rails ..............

Gorilla glue is only for use on certain plastics,I did glue the tray in the back of my maxxum with it,it sort of worked but looks a bit rough (possibly used to much).

Decided to risk the Tiger Seal as I had some on the place and short of spending £60 I had nothing else to try. Read up about it again and it claimed to do plastic, metal, etc.

Put a bead on the existing surface. Placed the washer on top, and covered it in more tiger seal so it was no longer visible bar the hole in the middle.

Three hours later, it seemed reasonably stiff. Reassembled and for now it's as good as new!
