Out of interest, what size of hot water tank have you matched to your milk silo?
I ask because I am certain that we have been spec'd one that is too small .. 500 litres to 35,000 litres (albeit we are not filling it to anywhere near capacity at the moment) but it is programmed to do 2 warm washes before the hot wash and whilst the bacto is ok, it could be better

I always thought ( but I may be wrong) that you size the boiler to the number of milk units to wash rather than the size of the bulk tank? I know some parlours reccomend up to 25 litres of warm water per milk unit.

does it not depend on the manufacturer of the silo as they all probably wash slightly different from each other therefore require different amount of water,

gas water heaters on demand no need to store hot water. looking into it at moment here .supposed to be more cost effective
Have thought about gas heaters myself for parlour but someone told me they don't heat to high enough temperatures? Or it's only a dribble to get it to high temperature so the trough of water will be cooled by the time you have enough volume? If you find out more please let us know.
