Which cubicle mattress?

I've had Wilson pasture mat and premium pads for 6 years in rest of the shed and I'm not a fan. It's a pain to install and its lifting where there's a join in the mat and bedding is getting under it. I fancy trying something else. I like look of kraiburg wella longline because it's one continuous roll of rubber that's very spongy. Anyone got kraiburg mats in?

We put some kraiburg puzzle mats in 2 years ago and have some cubicles to do with longline for this winter. I really like them and I think they will wear better than mattresses.

The (relatively) new dairy unit at Greenmount agricultural college has kraiburg rubber mattresses, a neighbour of mine fitted them in his new robotic dairy unit off the back of seeing them. They seem very comfortable and stay clean, although my neighbour has a robot scraper going so less muck carried on feet.

not keen on waterbeds because if you watch a cow lying down on them, she goes down on her front knees first and as soon as the knee hits the bed the water disperses away from the joint offering little cushioning. when the cow is fully down , yes there is good comfort as the liquid is more evenly spread but no way would I put them in. Kraiburg gets the thumbs up here!

Have Deboer mattresses here. Looked at water beds when installed in 2012 and they were twice the price. The general feeling was that if cows are housed 365 days then go for water beds but if grazed for the summer mattresses are fine.

Teemore engineering now do a water mattress with latex under it so the cow has the comfort when lying down. Costs £180 fitted. And in my experience they are good to deal with. 12 year warranty with it as well. Seen it installed in N.Ireland and think it is a great job
