Some minor changes

Just playing with some changes to the forum navigation, if things get a bit jumbled up temporarily this will be why ! you might see them come and go a bit over the next few days ! when working right hovering over with a mouse should reveal what each does (not done that yet though!)

I want to simplify the top menu navigation bar, there are lots of things on there than according to the database noone ever uses or if they do its very infrequent, I also want make navigation between Farm Marketplace, TFF classifieds and the forum more joined up

As a start we are going to add the 3 buttons above for TFF home page, Classifieds Home Page and Farm Marketplace home page

my question is what other menu functions would you class as essential and want to see a navigation button for ?

My initial thoughts are "new posts" "Directory" (soon to be renamed "company pages" and a separate free "contractor directory" section) "news and blogs" then all the rest still available but not as buttons just a simple menu for them as they are now

Doing this is going to help us with a long overdue and essential forum update and hopefully freshen things up a bit without changing stuff for change sake making the forum a bit more user friendly on tablets and mobile devices as well

if we dont like it it can always be changed back

feedback please ? mostly on what buttons you would like to see ?

So your's doesn't look like this? First 2 pics are top and bottom of page in portrait. Next 2 are top and bottom in landscape. (On iPhone)

Sorrry on my galaxy the buttons have moved to the centre like I said. I hadn't noticed the new 'top' button as the old is there.

On the kindle nothing has changed in 15.3 :(

Not really a problem on the k i ndle as the gap between fmp and alerts is bigger.
Oh and just seen the new top button on the kindle. I hadn't noticex it right at the bottom.
Just been looking at the iPad.In portrait the 4 buttons at the bottom move to the middle but in landscape they stick to the right. The 3 at the top stay on the right whether in portrait or landscape.

It seems your viewing experience depends on, not only what device you use but also how you hold it.

I think the ‘TOP’ button should be at the bottom of the thread or menu’s, not stuck right at the bottom off the page, just my 50p worth. Someone may already have mentioned it.
I agree, somewhere around the last post before the reply box / trouble is I’m not sure what limitations there are with xenforo. It could be a lot more difficult to do than where they are now

Spoke to @Clive today at croptec. He upgraded my TFF on the phone to the responsive 15.3 version with the "top button" on the screen(y)

He also outlined the improvements there intending to make in the near future. Small tweaks to keep things running sweet and up to date.

Looks to me as though there is significant investment in the future of the Forum, from the management, in time and money for us users.

So thankyou:)

Gave me a TFF pin badge as well.

Maybe get a mug next time:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

To be honest I don't see the point in the "Top" button. On my iPhone a double tap at the top of the screen is easier and quicker than scrolling to the bottom of the page then hitting the button. It works from anywhere on the page.
