Looking for some advice bleeding the diesel, bought an old FE35 4 cylinder diesel which has been stood for 10 years. Just been trying to start it, got diesel down to the injector pump and got the bleed screw out the top of the injector pump with diesel coming out. but cannot get diesel up to injectors, thought i had something on number one but now nothing, got all four cracked of and tried a number of times and nothing.

Any help or advice?

Probably the metering valve and/or the pumping plunger stuck inside the pump. With the fresh fuel now in the pump and a few good taps with the shaft of a hammer, they may free up as you crank the engine but if not,it''ll be a pump off job.

Retime how do you mean
Upon refitting the pump do you mean or checking the timing of the gears.

When you put the pump on fit a new good quality heater plug and make sure there is fuel to the heater plug also you might have to fill the resovoir manually.

And hopefully it's a good starter version
It isn't the end of the world if it isn't good at starting as there is a few tricks that can be done to make her start 1st time

Yes I mean when refitting the pump?

I have already replaced the heater and heater supply pipe as they were both broken. Pump and injectors are having a service now.

But so far the things I’ve found wrong have been- heater failed, fuel pipe broken, starter solenoid failed, injector pump stuck.

So it had no chance of starting!

The pump Should be doweled.

Fingers crossed it fires up should stand a chance now

In fact thinking back a few years since I've done one
But I remember them being abit fiddly to time up correctly,
You best Google it if you don't have a manual

just got my pump and injectors back, the pump was seized as it had water in it. injectors are all good. so now they are ll working and the fuels system has been cleaned out, but i was advised that the injector seals need replacing as they are in abit of a state. i am trying to source the correct one's but am struggling but i have found some on eBay out of a pug 205 diesel that look to be the same size. Outside diameter 21mm inside diameter 14.5mm but the thickness of the originals were 1.7mm and the pug ones are 1.5mm thick. do you think this will cause any problems or does someone know where to get the orginal ones from?

I wouldn't think will make much difference as she is indirect injection so not going to hit anything. But stand to be corrected! let us know how you get on.

it is important to use correct injector washers as the spray into cylinders will not be correct , every time I have injectors serviced there is new washers supplied also do not be tempted to use easystart

Search for Imperial sizes rather than metric

If you heat the old washers on a flame until dull red, then quickly quench them in water, they will sandpaper flat. Place the sandpaper on a flat surface and pull the washer over it, with your finger. The Peugeot washers sound fine, the lad that did the injectors for you, didn't give you washers?
Clean the surface down the hole well, there might even be an extra washer down there.
