Or a buried pallet in the gateway with a good trench underneath ............

Neighbour called the other day mentioned a few names to me, living in new houses beside us. As the hour changed, he has started to use the side spreader in the middle of the night on grass fields they have taken over (at night) for recreational use, leaving his boundary fences in tatters.

Its all very stressful for everyone involved ..........

i bet the price of old seed harrows are on the up in your area at farm sales, just remember where you leave them
Yeah something like that....

Hence the purchase of a headland plough to get a deep furrow/trench on our one exposed bit of ground.

2 caught up the road Wednesday. 2 caught Tue the other side of the next village.

Still lots of land in the area with open gateways/easy access. All ours pretty much blocked up etc.

someone mentioned an idea to me a few year ago, camo up and lay in hedge with silenced rifle, drop a dog or two problem will soon go away.
Stick a thermal scope on a.204 Ruger and they won't know what's hit them, no need to switch a lamp or torch on all night , word will soon get around to avoid your land.

As I understand it you can only dispatch a dog if it is worrying YOUR livestock, I don't believe the hares are a) livestock and b) YOURS.

There is more than one way to skin a cat though.

I take the chance that coursers would not go to the Police, they would have to admit to breaking the law themselves.

But what is stopping them? They have nothing to lose, you do, like a nice Ruger 204.
I don't think they would, if they did they wouldn't know who'd shot the dogs anyway, I knew a Keeper who used to do this, the Police possibly knew it but left him alone, he also used to deflate poachers 4x4 tyres with a rifle, poaching gangs just moved to another estate.

Lamping 10.30pm Coventry/Bedworth/Wolvey area Mitsubishi Barbarian Silver Grey Reg DX66 VGN four lads 25-35 blue rope tied to the back tow bar
either shooting a rifle from the window on the road or up to no good, this vehicle could be a farmers son, do you know it?

I imagine if a poacher/ pikey/ traveller(take your pick) noticed his/her dog had suddenly expired due to a large calibre bullet coming their way, then the landowner would very quickly find plod on their doorstep wanting to examine their firearms.
These people are venal in the extreme, but they know their 'rights' and how to exploit the firearms regulations to their benefit.
