If the oil level dropped on the stick it would suggest the charge pump is working to a degree yes but if u have black plastic bits and white stringy stuff in the filter I would say the charge pump filter has come off and the pump is half blocked up with smashed up filter ?

Take the MCV valve off to have a quick look whilst the oil is out .

Have you run it with new oil and filters yet ?

I agree if you have the oil out, i'd be inclined to remove drop box and side cover with the pump attached you'd get a good view of what is occurring, if your lucky the steering pump hasn't worn due to the dirt in the filters. Check the charge pump filter screen along with drive gear, not good news if you need a new charge pump as it is quite a challenge to swap. The steering pump controls transmission pressure as well as steering. Hence your problems. When the pump is worn you can bring it back to life by slackening pressure outlet on pump and cranking engine, till oil runs out air free. Then tighten fitting and away you go.

Are some of those bits like a foam rather than plastic ? If so that's probably off the back off the hydraulic pump. ..... I think the MCV valve needs to come off [emoji51]

No foam parts ... just like plastic parts. hydraulic pump dead? Will it be repaired? or a new one?:( Where exactly is the MCV valve?:scratchhead:

The plastic bits normally jam up the charge pump and they crack it open and shear off the keyway in the drive gear. The charge pump is located inside the gearbox and it's about the size of your fist and it's a horrible fiddly job to do only with time and patients [emoji32] . The MCV valve is the valve block bolted on the transmission that the main hydraulic filter bolts to once that's off ull see the charge pump to the left of the hole hidden below all the gears in the bottom of the box [emoji106]

As above, remove cover that the filter you have removed fits to. Behind this cover is a hydraulic pump bolted to the back and also the charge pump sat in the bottom as McCman describes. Hopefully your charge pump works as it is one heck of a job to replace it.

If you know what your doing and where your going you can change a pump in a day easy enough, might be a good day mind and a stiff drink will be needed when it's done ! Someone with small hands and thin arms could be a benefit too .

I do not know if I can change it myself.I'm frankly i dare not. For my chosen service manual, the old model cx and my English is not good enough to understand him.

Hi. @McCman
Today I showed the pieces to the master. As you say, the master said they are parts of the pump-filter... said we will dismantle and clean it. Which adhesive to hold the new strainer? I do not want the new to fall again :(

A dab of superglue will hold it firm and should stop it falling off again. It has some indents that it clips onto and i guess it must wiggle about on them and work loose until it falls off. In all fairness they don't fall off that often I have only done one this year, it's just quite a barsteward when they do. [emoji106]

would it be any japanese glue? how should we clean the remaining plastics in the system?

I have not removed the parts yet. I'll start a few weeks... I'm not sure if I can find the strainer as one.If it is sold with the pump it will be very expensive. i'm investigating. The hydraulic pump seems to be working. In Turkey, the strainer is sold with the pump. Can I just find the strainer? I just need a strainer.
