Does anyone here know if the retrospective acreage calculations under the "Minchinghampton" refunds and our remaining years' BPS payments overdue are likely to be declared and settled up, as promised, before the 2017 round of payments kicks off in December?

Still 5 weeks to go.

I'll take the inevitable silence here as an unequivocal 'no', and make new financial arrangements accordingly.

Thank you.

Surprisingly, even the NFU can't answer the question.

Do you have an agent? If so and they are members of the CAAV, their BPS/CS/TB guru who spends her life talking to the RPA, might be able to get an answer.

I have gazed into my crystal ball which sadly doesn't do Lotto numbers accurately and it says not to bother holding your breath. I know plenty of others who still haven't got the Commons payments sorted.

AM I the only Person who has absolutely no idea what you are on about ? Might explain the lack of response....

https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/sps-common-land-allocation

"Additional BPS entitlements will be allocated and payments made to farmers who have claimed successfully. This is likely to be completed in the autumn."

https://www.nfuonline.com/cross-sector/farm-business/bps/bps-news/commoners-to-receive-top-up-payments-after-major-legal-win/

"NFU Vice President Guy Smith said: “These payments have been long in coming and it is pleasing to see they are now being made to eligible commoners. It starts to tick off one of the many outstanding issues that remain on our RPA ‘to do list’. We look forward to the RPA completing their retrospective commons work for BPS, ideally ahead to the 2017 payment window opening on 1 December, so that we see commoners being paid correctly what they are due alongside all other categories of claimant later this year.”"

Dont hold your breath

Still 2 weeks to go, Old Tip.

My worry is not that I put the 3 yr BPS refund promised to arrive before December into my cash-flow for the banksters (more fool me), but that this lack of resolution will again delay the whole year's entire BPS being paid to commoners, which, in my case, is worth some 10x more than that of the overdue refund.

NFU still useless on this one so far.

it’s still not been paid

Just got the latest 2017 BPS update from the RPA, today, Old Tip.

It really doesn't make very good reading :-

"Commons: we cannot allocate the eligible area of a common to those who have declared their rights on it until we have received all necessary information."

So, it looks like the long delay in payment's probably been mostly all our own fault.

Funnily enough, whenever I owe HMG anything, in the rare event of income tax, for example, there's always a tightly enforced deadline for information.
