Thinking of fitting liquid fert to a co3. Thinking old sprayer tank on front linkage with electric pump to simple manifold(s) piped to legs (my gen openers already have LF pipes). What Im wondering is what Type and amount of fert are you guys using so i can work out pump size for my 3 m drill? Normally dd between 8 and 12 km/hr. Particularly for spring crops.
Anybody using a diy electric pump and where did you source it? Is it variable speed or how do you control rate? Interested in simple systems which i can build myself, thoughts or advice welcome please!

So at say 10k, 3 m drill = approx 3 ha/hr. so 150x3=450l/hr =7.5 l per min. So would something like this do?

plus maybe this:

Or am i thinking waaaaay to simple??

so is your system a tank, filter, that 12 v pump, relief valve, to a manifold just piped to the legs? what drill and width are u using? Do you vary the motor speed with the wiper switch to vary rate? Is that hard on the motor and does it give trouble? And what fert are u using? Sorry for all the questions but decided to put all in one post!

Yes, but with no relief vv. Neil Challis from Challis/Reed supplied the manifold and is happy to make them. He's on Twitter and very approach.

From the manifold it goes down to each tube in 8mm sprayer pipe, at the end I've cut 1" 6mm pipe and inserted it into the end, this gives me a restriction so evens up the flow. Cheap eBay connectors and fert delivery tubes that I made myself. Clive may be supplying tubes for CO drills which would make it easier.

Neil also supplied a rocker type switch which is activated by the land wheel, all pretty basic but it works well enough. If I had more justification I'd look at what Tim Parton or David White have done.

Fert has been standard Yara but looking at AS.

Thanks. I did make a phone call to my horsch dealer re a pump.....am still recovering from the shock!
Have pretty well nailed down what i am going to do except .... What diameter stainless pipe do I use on bottom of coulter?
Looking at all the pix here they look about 4 to 6 mm inside dia? Any advice appreciated

Not to regulate flow? I thought you would need a restriction close to end of pipe or else the longer pipes would not fill at the same time and uneven rates? Are you using similar size pump to @SimonD? I think I am overthinking this!
