34 rams pulled in the last few days, 22 today, had a look at a group of 73 ewe lambs, 3 rams which had all been with ewes for a few weeks before and 73/73 marked in 29-30days, we raddled when they went in just to see if they were in season, havnt raddled since. 30/73 were served in 11 days.

8 rams including Ho Chi Mingh are coming out tomorrow and that’s all out then.

I was disappointed that only 6 out of 71 ewe lambs had been marked after 2 weeks with the ram and the previous 2 weeks with the teaser.

On closer inspection the crayon holder has come off the (nearly new) harness

I'll have to put on a new harness with a different colour crayon.

Just an update to say that these harnesses worked very well. i had 5 out on charolais tups and non if them slipped or moved. I just tightened them up a bit when i changed the crayon at 14days.

The 2 Suffolk ram lambs I bought this year served 158 out of 162 ewes. They both weighed the same pre and post tupping with no loss of condition, no lameness and no dags. Happy with that!
I am delighted to hear all has gone well. It still gives me a real buzz to have good feedback and I remain surpised by any praise - probably I have had too many years in the pedigree world to expect unsolicited compliments.

Highlander ewe lambs getting covered nicely now, but still a few coming tupping each day after 3 weeks. At least they'll not be in a mad rush in April...

The trailer full of uglieness that's responsible for the pretty colours...

@easyram1. Very pleased with lambs born by nz Suffolk Rams, easily born, no assistance, up and suckling in no time, zest for life. Lambing has been far easier, such a comparison to ewes sired by uk texel, which I've had to pull about 50% because of their big heads and shoulders. I think I've only had to pull 3 by nz's, even my father who was sceptical at first is now a convert!
