Sheep cake price ?

Had some rolls from for farmers last year with high dup. Bought as emergency ration as twins got too lean outside. The higher dup certainly did the trick and if I ever had to feed in the run up to lambing again I’d definitely pay the extra for it

Yes, all those feed company's have two choices, you get what you pay for. Don't want a lot of thin ewes with no milk come April.

This is what we've been using for a few years. ewes always look well on it and have plenty of milk.

How many kilos do you feed? Id like to see soya well up the list and wheatfeed off it completely. Tbh I wouldn’t be pleased with that ration but if it works for you fair dos.

Build up to half a kg per lamb at due date + ad lib clamp silage. We have used better cake in the past but had probs with acidosis. This seems to work here. Touch wood. Fingers crossed.

If it’s not broke don’t fix it I suppose. I was always told it took the soya to produce quality colostrum and milk so I always look for it high up the list, just my notion

Dup you need, doesn't necessarily have to come from soya.

I’ve just compared that label to mine, for Lea Oakes Gold. Mine is almost identical but with wheatfeed and maize gluten swapped round, giving 19% protein and a bit lower fibre. Very happy with performance from it over several years.

I did compare spec and price between CCF (made by LO) and Lea Oakes own stuff last year, and there was nothing in it either way. I stuck with Lea Oakes because I wanted to support my rep for doing my a favour a couple of years ago. I don’t tend to forget stuff like that.

Basically what we have fed many times before, the soya oil is new to us though, be interesting to see how the ewes do on it but it fairly pushes the me up.

Normally 3 way blend here but find it gets separated on blowing into bin going to try above nut this yr ,.
