From my limited experience, Canterbury is great to look at, but boring after a while. The waikato is much more interesting.
Definitely wouldn't want to stay there for good but perfect for 4 or 5 months of intensive dairy work, 45 mins to get Skiing to was a great plus side too, but could be considered the most boring part of an otherwise amazing country

Carturbury was for me by far the best part of NZ, yes there are lots of other nice places but for me the plains were pure paradise
In fact the only thing wrong with the plains is that I'm not there now

Lovely part of the country tell him to visit hadads (think that’s how you spell it) in the middle of otorohanga hell of a place to get kitted out for clothing

My sons wanting to go NZ early in July when he finishes his HND. Probably for 6/8 months work before traveling for a bit. He loves cows and is relishing the challenge and very different from high input herd he’s used too.
I know it can be a very remote country. Any pointers where too look, good areas?? If he goes for somewhere with lots of cows he will gain more experience and perhaps have a bit of company.
He found a website and emailed his CV to a couple. I’m a bit concerned what/where he’s going too sign himself up for. There are loads of Dairy jobs. Just finding a good one.

What I’d love is someone too say yeah I did a year here and they were great employers if he is up for hard work he’ll have a good crack, earn some money and learn a lot.
Thanks
Hanzon jobs. Richard will help you out. Has good farms on his books. You’ll find them on the internet.
