Has anyone applied and how did you get on? We are thinking of applying but we haven't heard very good things through the grape vine> we are just after some advice from those who have applied.

Same as @danpwll applied first round, bought the stuff, some of it for much less than they were quoted for, but you still get paid 40% of what they were quoted! Emailed the invoices and paid in under 30 days. Wish I'd applied for some more stuff

I’ve applied on the second round, bought the stuff (either at less than the ‘cost’ figure or better spec at that figure. Currently waiting on the money, but 30 days would be nice.:)

Out of interest, what have you heard ‘through the grape vine’ that puts you off? I’ve heard nothing but good things from those that have actually applied, but a few made up stories from a few that haven’t even looked at it properly.

It’s been devised to be incredibly straightforward to apply and claim. Of those that applied for round one, only a handful were rejected I understand. A couple because they ticked the box to say they had a turnover of over a million £, a couple that didn’t use the trading name registered with RPW:facepalm:, and another that there was no record of him attending the Farming Connect Indoctrination meeting:facepalm:.

The only real problem is finding the 60%, which is why I was amazed it was undersubscribed again this time, falling at a time when BPS cheques would be arriving to ease cash flow.

I have been told by two different sources, that those that applied in round one will be able to reapply to take up the rest of their £12k grant application before long.

I did suggest that everyone should be able to have another go, rather than let the money go back to Europe.

Applied for the 1st round but heard nothing-presumed that we had been unsuccessful, especially as our neighbour was notified that his application had been approved. Months later had an e- mail to say that our application had been approved but that the server had sent the confirmation e-mail to the wrong address????. We replied that our investment plans had changed and could we re apply?. Told Yes and currently awaiting cheque.

We were told by someone from the CLA that it was under subscribed, that it was complicated and application were being turned down because the wording was wrong ( the applicant doesn't speak civil servant). The equipment we are looking at the prices they have got are miles out. We are going to apply but we wanted some information from those who had applied first.

Is it possible to get the list of the companies they went to to get the prices for the equipment for?

Why do you need that? You are free to get whatever equipment you like, from wherever you like, as long as it fits a very general description given on the grant schedule. You can spend a hell of a lot less than their figure, as long as it meets that general spec, and still get 40% of the figure they worked out.

Could your CLA contact have been looking at a different grant scheme?:scratchhead: I can't see how any wording could be wrong, as you only have to tick a few boxes online. As posted above, a couple have apparently been turned down because they didn't use the same business name as RPW hold for the business, or they ticked the box to say that had a turnover of over a million £ (declaring themselves ineligible). There is no other wording needed to apply, just tick boxes next to the items you're claiming and click submit.

We would like to see the list because the price for the calibration trays is£275 but I can't find any for less than £591 If they can get trays for £275 then I wont to know where so we can get them. They don't say what width the trays are for.

Has anyone had stuff bought on finance?

I haven't but from an email they sent me: "We will accept two kinds of evidence for the purpose of claims. An invoice (which does not have to be receipted) or a credit agreement if the item or items are to be purchased on a finance arrangement."

I wish id put more on but would be nice to have another crack but would it mean having to spend another £7500 to get the £3 k back

Presumably, yes. The way I was told, it would just be another chance to apply, but up to a maximum of the allocation not taken up previously.
