Predictive text issues on galaxy s7

Galaxy s7 causing minor irritation when using apostrophes.
Typing didn't or hasn' or you're often results in the final letter (or letter after the apostrophe) being dropped when space bar is tapped (as above).
Often if I go back and correct it the first letter of the next word is dropped.
Been doing it for some time and every time I get a software update it cures it , only for it to start again a few days later.
A quick Google found nothing but I notice from other posts on here it appears others are getting the same problem.
Any help appreciated.

Can you type it without the apostrophe and then when it offers the correct word underneath, just tap on it??
What keyboard are you using? Settings / Language and input.
I use Gboard
It's when I type and allow predictive to put in the apostrophe it drops the letter. If I type without the ' then click on the highlighted word it keeps it in but shouldn't have to do that.
Only option for keyboard is the Samsung one. Guess I could download another.
But thinking about it there must be more settings I'm not getting at cos I've seen no option to change predictive text.

Ok now found some more settings it's still doing it though. Will play around with the settings a bit.
