Today at work

To put it simply they weren’t selling enough! They where popular in the UK (even more so after they stopped making them:rolleyes:) and parts of Europe but that’s only a tiny part of global sales.
So there wasn’t enough sales revenue to continue with product development so they just stopped. I could never understand whey they didn’t just leave the product alone and keep building them as they where, had good machines from the 32/34/3800 range anyway. I was never to keen on all the electronics on the 3220/3420.
Massey case newholland deutz all sell handlers dont know why they bother really. Are they all just other makes with a badge stuck on? So they have no manufacturing or r&d costs. Just buy them in and paint them?

I have a 3215, had it from new 07 plate, it has got near 8000 hrs on the clock although in the last couple of years it has hardly been used. It has been worked quite hard and from memory it has had 2 new joysticks a new spool block, lots of other things go wrong with it and today its going to have at least its fourth new pump on it. Always used jd oils and filters.

I have a feeling they are other makes painted in there colours but I’m not sure.
I did here a rumour  and don’t quote me on this but the guy who headed up the r&d for the jd handler now works at Kramer. And jd now have a partnership with kramer! Who knows what’s up n the pipeline, although I did ask the question at the factory last week and was told we’re definitely not going to see a Kramer in jd colours!! But how many times have we been told that before?

What’s the symptoms for the pump failure?
I have had an issue with a machine where the hydraulics kept going off/slow turned out to be the gauze filter in the hydraulic tank had dropped off! Every now and then it would role against the end of the feed pip and block it:rolleyes:. Switch it off leave it and the hydraulics would come back, it’s worth checking but you’ll need to remove the fuel tank and drain the hydraulic tank to get to it. (y)

Ps I’ve had 3215 with 10000 plus hours on livestock farms that have never had a pump.

We’re then not re-engineered Matbro’s?

I thought JD eventually bought out matbro? Then finished with the Matbro name? To then make only JD handlers, which only lasted a few years before they stopped production all together. All a bit of a shame for Matbro in the end:(.....I wonder if they would still be in production today, if JD never took them out? Or were they in trouble at the time?
Another British brand gone.......
Matbro had just got it spot on with the 290, then John Deere stepped in. Didn't Terex end up making something from the eventual ashes?

Massey is a Bobcat, and I quite like the look of them.
I'm sure there was a Kramer in the John Deere tent at LAMMA.

Probably already know this but Jd has done a deal with Kramer, so Kramer are basically using the jd dealer network to support there products as jd don’t have a telehandler and Kramer didn’t really have a big ag dealer network it’s a win win for both.
I’ve been told the company’s won’t be merging though, but never say never I’m sure deere would just buy them out if was looking profitable and they wanted to ad a handler back to the range.

Lots of silage out today.
Enough for 4 days in the big smoke, then will sneak home and put more out.

Seems to keep quite well against a fence if I heap it up, and put a wire over it so the cattle don't lie on it.

Fed the lambs - quite surprised just how much of a pick there is in these older paddocks (especially where the cattle were on it grinding it in, the greener bit)

Few bits and bobs coming through at last

Do JD still own the pin/cone headstock design?
