4 or 6 cylinder tractors

Definitely not their finest hour. Sent back at the docks, then a host of recalls. Maybe it was the unlucky 7! :D
Um, I've heard that Sisu have cocked up there 7 cylinder engines on combines and bulldozers, with chronic oil consumption problems. But I've also heard that at least they've put their hands up to it, and are doing something about it.

They were only meant to add an extra cylinder, not bugger the things up. What went wrong?
that's probably the problem they just added 1 not redesign!!!

the 4 vs 6 debate is the new 5/7!

the kybota 4 cyl says 6.1 litre but what are them masseys? like 6718? I thought they were still 4.4 but haven't looked at them... only look at new stuff I will get in 10years time, they might be worn out by then!

Have the same predicament here currently running 2 125hp maxxums one due to change older one without adblue and boost don't fancy going back to 4 cylinder but don't really need the power of 150hp 6 cylinder plus boost

What will do alot will do a little, the maxxum 150 is a 6 cylinder and is the same wheelbase as the all the 4 cylinders now so is a bit of a no brainer really

That’s what my father thought about the three cylinder engine in the MF35 after having a Field Marshall and Standard Fordson.

We bought a 4 cylinder Valtra 5 years ago, to replace a 6 cylinder NH. It is just as powerful, and the engine hangs on well. Yes, we have a big weight on the front linkage for ploughing etc, but for lighter jobs you have a handy compact tractor.
The last two tractors that we have bought have been 150 HP Kubotas. That 4 cylinder 6.1 litre engine is a beast, and torque is very low down on revs.
That 6.1 motor prob the best compromise be tween 4 or 6 cylinder. Max torque 1300rpm impressive

I’m a big fan of 5 pot motors.

Alright the one in the discovery wasn’t anything special but the 5cyl engine in my pickup is lovely. Lots of low down grunt and makes a nice noise as well. Certainly a lot better than the 4cyl drone

bit unfair having front links with a weight block on the 6 cyl? would have been farer other way around to get them nearer equally balanced?

says they have the same wheelbase but the new holland has a 1m wider turning circle?

What a heap of trash review. If the NH has the stronger motor fair enough, that's on its own merits not just because it's a 6 cylinder.

Why didn't they take a 66 and put it against a 76?

That's why I bought one late last year. The last of a great engine. All electric after 2020! Have to be careful not to have a heavy right foot though. Goes like a scalded cat if you floor it!
I honestly thought that they had ended production several years ago. What model is it that you have? They have used the current four cylinder for three years or more now in some models and my year old XC90 has the 2litre twin turbo four cylinder 235hp diesel.
