Steyr Tractors

Old school (SISU engine, ZF CVT) Steyrs are sadly no more. What you get nowadays is a red and white T7/Puma.

I had a brief play on one of Cefn Llwyd's old school Case Steyrs some years back, pulling horse boxes out of Llanfair Show. Absolute beast of a thing. First time I'd encountered a drive pedal as opposed to a foot throttle and took some getting used to. Plenty of people with more experience of CVT tractors than me argue they have never been surpassed.

I got two of the last real Steyr CVTs, named Case CVX 195. I wouldnt change them for anything! Its a shame they stopped selling them...

How many blue versions were sold in the Uk? New Holland T7550 I believe was the same as a CVX195

I dont know how many but I know that you are absolutely right. T7550 is a blue CVX 195. I have always thought the T7550 looks really good, also thought about changing colour to black if I were to find one second hand!

But they are hard to find with low hours these days im afraid... doesnt matter if its blue or red or red/white.

We have owned 3 Case Steyr tractors. A 2003 Case Steyr 150, way ahead of its time. What a tractor, used to go faster up hill than down! Then we had two CVX 175s, down to the one now with 7500hrs on the clock, still love driving it.Been fert spinning today with her, ideal for that in fact most jobs! Had to buy a Puma CVX to go with it which I like also after getting used to it.

What is the cab interior like on the current Steyr? Is it the same as a Puma, being as they come down the same line, or a different design?
I just been on the Steyr website as was wondering the same and it does look similar to same size case, including a Steyr luxxum model

I was wondering if they used the Steyr multicontroller (which is still used on smaller Cases) but from what I can see on the website it's pure Puma with a different seat cover.

View attachment 636120 These two showed up at Mavern a couple of years ago. There used to be one in Lincolnshire, out on the Wolds, like the one on the left, but considerably bigger. Never did find out who owned it, or ever saw it working.
A contractor in Nottinghamshire has one, but newer type, like the Case equivalent.
Ben Aubrey he is called. It's an 8150. 50k with air brakes as standard.
He has a 8180 aswell now I think?
