deep cut across side of index finger. Didn't go and get stitched. Wound now almost healed' but finger numb and any pressure gives a nerve jolt like touching an electric fence. Can nerves be sown back together or is that it? Any point seeing a quack?

No point seeing a quack if it's nearly healed - nerves will heal themselves and find new routes - may take 8-12 weeks though. Be patient and before you know it you'll be back to normal.

Did the same years ago. They tell me nerves grow back as quick as hair would grow. Mine still feels odd still and gives that little jolt when pushed in the wrong place.
