I found having a bath with a tablespoon of Epsom salts helps. Mine happens at any time along with cramp. I dreamed an animal was eating my leg the other night and was relieved to wake up and find it was cramp.
I can river dance myself right out of bed some nights!

All of these: It just depends on how you started getting restless feet/ legs. We use them so much. When I started out I thought I had a sprained ankle. And for 2 years I never connected a big back problem with numb toes. I never connected spasming right leg to broken back. I thought it was because I was commuting 45 min to work and back in daytime seattle traffic. I put heat pads on my right leg to go to sleep. Ate quinine. Used rubs, lidocaine. And then came the steroids (not for my feet but for my back) test after test after test. Until 2010 when I found a back surgeon, he looked at got knows which mri and said I had a franctured L5s1 and no amount of chiropractic etc, etc would work. I needed a fusion. And the people who go into my surgeon are accompanied by a file that is at least an inch thick. How many MRIs have been misread by radiologists I can't tell you. But a skilled back surgeon will tell you if it is broken and if it is not, he will put a steroid injection in there and that is all people need and if he can't find anything wrong he's going to tell you and send you back to PT because you're not using your pelvis correctly (NO jokes boys)

Hello again, this will sound odd, firstly for the symptom then me worryif about it. The restless leg is still the same but coping with it but last few weeks the same foot feels, odd part, feels like I'm wearing a wet sock, sort of cold feeling. Same when walking and sitting relaxing. It's appearing this evening and Having a worrying sort of day to start wth so now this has appeared it's kicked my worry off again. Is it just circulation ?

There would be many more symtoms if it was anything to do with diabetes. Peripheral neuropathy would be diagnosed much earlier.
It is much more likely that it is a shortage of Vit B. This is easily sorted by buying over the counter Vit B - it is water soluble so if your body does not need it, you will just pee it out. Worth trying for a month to see if it helps.

There is a timelimitation on this. I waited too long. I did all the suggestions. When my back was finally mri'd, the surgeon said there was nothing but surgery that could have helped me. He did the surgery and then you wait to see if the neuropathy goes away. Mine didnt. I pushed off surgery all i could.

Look do all of tbat but get an mri of your entire back to see if nerves are being crushed.

That must have been very difficult for you and I am sorry you found yourself in this situation. I think a crushed nerve is a horrible thing to have as the pain can be intense, and cause other problems. Have you tried acupuncture as this can sometimes stimulate the nerves?

Hi I would say Joanne b has it about right. I have a herniated disc at l5 s1 and I get a cold sensation in my left foot regularly due to it pressing on my spinal cord . I went to chiropractor and he sent me for a mri which confirmed this. I’ve been to see neurologist but they won’t operate until it gets worse. Some days it’s annoying some days it’s really bad but once you know it’s nothing more serious you might not worry about it so much. I went for a mri at York privately it’s cheaper than you think pm me if u want details.

Acupuncture, cupping, chiropractor, gabapentin, physical therapy, herbology including apple cidervingar. But what everybody says is you have to give it time. Herniated discs are bad. My daughter gets steroid shots for hers.

Just been watching the follow up tv program about restless leg sydrome. RLS.

The 3 people featured are on various drugs, from sleeping pills and painkillers to antidepressants.
I can only comment for myself but Pramipexol is fantastic. 2 pills at teatime and sleep is a joy until I wake up for a pee at 3.30 to 4am.

This is not sciatica / trapped nerves but completely involuntary and unstoppable leg twitches.
Compared to the people in the programme I'm only a mild case but not one of them was on pramipexol.
My Dad was on about 8 a night when he got into his 80's so there's some scope to up the dose for me in years to come.
Pramipexol is a treatment for the symptoms of Parkinsons disease.

I've found nothing else to touch the twitches and the pain-like sensations. I'm trying to accumulate a small (large) stock of pills in case of armageddon type evemt so I can cope. ;)

I have burning feet, not hot to touch but burning feeling inside, any diagnosis?

I had surgery for a slipped disc many years ago. One of the symptoms was what the medics call 'a hot foot'. Not hot, as you say, but the left foot has always been redder and more sensitive to touch. It is slightly turned out, too, and I cannot lift the toes of that foot off the ground so that occasionally I'll trip. All from a trapped lumbar nerve. I believe the tendons have now shortened and nothing can be done at my age (79).
