Antique farm equipment found in Barn...What could it be??

Hello,

We purchased a new home and inside the barn was a couple of old implements that were used back in the day when this farm was productive.
I for one do not really know for sure what they are or could be used for.
One appears to be some type of corn husker, the other looks like a planter of some type.
All attach a couple of pictures for further clarification.
They both seem to be in great shape and would like to keep them around for history.
Can anyone provide and input??..

Thanks in advance,

DP

First one looks like its a hammer mill for milling corn. Second one you cannot see any of the works in the photo so I could not even guess at what it is for.

Don’t think the wood or the frame affair are anything to do with the early potato ‘hoover’ they used to be called iirc?

The first pic looks like a lot of trunking for a cyclone, is there an actual mill in there as well?

Yes I see the frame is attached to the machine on closer look, did that take the Haulm off the top?

Still not sure if that is a drawbar though, nothing like it in the photo of the one on a tractor.

It is the drawbar. If you look closely at the front of the machine you can see a C shaped steel channel which the shaft fits into. I would suggest the shaft is for 2 horses one either side the shaft and the horses support the front of the machine so no need for front wheels.
Looks in such good condition lt should be on loan to a working horse museum.
