Ratchet strap - spare parts

Years ago local sheet firm made and repaired straps, then had a policy of only supplying new complete.

So doubtful, with all the health and safety these days, wouldn't be able to guarantee that the new part had been fitted correctly.

I don't think anyone will beat strapmaster.co.uk for price.

Our last order was
10x long handled ergo (pull down) ratchets with 600mm tail and standard claw fitting
10x 10m 5t strap with standard claw fitting

Was £90+vat and £15 carriage.
If I remember correctly ratchet tails were £3 last time I asked, brought complete ratchets instead.

i know of a former police officer that would buy boxes of ratchets and straps from roups or auctions.for maybe £50 for a dozen or so.
he would then take them to work and wait in the patrol car until he saw a suitable target.
this person was pulled over advised that they didnt have enough straps for the load and then told they would be charged.however it just so happened that the police had a box of straps in the boot and should a suitable fee be paid they would supply the driver with a ratchet and strap and the charge would be dropped.

They have the most stupid website I have ever seen. Stupid enough to stop me buying off them

As said by someone else a sheet manufacturer will be able to make some up for you to whatever length you want but might be cheaper just buying the whole new thing complete and keeping those as spares

Don't wish to hijack the thread but does anyone know where I can buy 2 inches of boot lace? ...my lace broke off this morning and I only need the bit that broke off [emoji53]
@smcapstick has a collection of spare laces, make sure you know what you need, colour, thicknes (in inches) material (leather, cotton, flax etc)
Also a fine collection of leather patches for cardigans!
