Democracy or autocracy?

Hi, I have noticed there have been one or two moderator changes of late.
No problems with this but I remembered reading about how they would possibly be selected in the future.
It's bugged me enough to dig out one of quotes where I read this:

I think if we needed new or replacement moderators in the future they would probabaly be selected by member vote. The existing team were selected when we first started and no one really one anyone else !

Can I ask if I have missed some sort of process or has a decision been made to go a different way.

Cheers.

It’s not a democracy no - to try run TFF by committee would mean nothing ever got done !

We have a few new staff members over the last 12 months and a ex moderator who had a bit of time away has returned to the role

I’m the future we may need additional moderators and I would ask for volunteers at that point and maybe run a members poll

Cheers for the speedy reply.

I must be mistaken then as it looked as though 3 new moderators have come on since the post i quoted.
Is that just an error in titling?
Or is it some paid some volunteer? If paid for, fair enough you pay you say.

Also i wasn't meaning the running of TFF at all.
For clarity i was purely curious about the moderator selection process.

There have been no additions to the unpaid moderators team for quite some time

We no longer have a paid moderator role

The others you see as staff members or maybe incorrectly listed as moderators are some of the others involved in the behind the scenes running of TFF some of which required moderator level access to systems even though they don’t actualy moderate

OK then at least it can stop bugging me now(y).
Perhaps an opportunity missed with the reappointment considering how rarely they come along?
