Was done 31st March last year. Might be able to start 10ac tomorrow. Rest is too wet. Been pulled over twice already.

Biggest grower around here in Shropshire hasn’t done much at all yet. They did 30 acres near me three weeks ago, but missed to do the headlands . I’ve got 65 acres for them , but haven’t even ploughed it yet. It had dried nicely until today

Why you worried? Are you batting for the other side?! Longer planting delayed better the job will be. Need to see plenty of 14 t/acre crops not these blasted 20 plus tonnes.

Because I’ve got £27k worth of seed in big bags still.

Yes I get your sentiment regarding price but harvest is going to go into November at this rate. Has a knock on effect for autumn drilling too.

Yes I know we can’t do anything about it, but it is playing on my mind.

We had 6mm yesterday, enough to make the top too wet to travel this morning. Its been too windy for fert even, normally have that on on March.

Looks like 4 wet days this wkend, then possibly a settled spell?

Things appear to be all over the place, early growers over here generally look to have made some good progress over the last 7-10 days but only on the lighter ground. Some planted 3-4 weeks ago have been sitting in some pretty dreadful conditions and not doing a lot as a result.

More challenging ground will be a while before completion, suggestions of late May or even early June.

With some rivers having broken their banks a couple of weeks ago that hasn't helped some in Shropshire and Herefordshire either.

Cheshire earlies only just getting finished too.

Lancs sand ground has seen some planting but mosses will not be fit yet (usually plant late anyway), and still plenty of 2017 crop in the ground up there too.............

Nothing done here since Thursday night. I don’t think that anything will be done till Friday if we are lucky. 2/3 done here. One month behind.
