Väderstad Rapid DD in to barley stubble. Quite a lot of soil disturbance. :whistle:

It looks like you use system disc when you DD with the Rapid?
My neighbor raise the system disc on his Rapid to get more weight on the seed boots , it surely works ok this year! Did you get the seed in to moisture?

Matts
Yes it's equipped with system disc but not used on this occasion. The ground was extremely dry for the season but seed placement looked OK.

What speed was you drilling at
Had a contractor doing the drilling so I do not really know but I guess around 12 km/h (7,5 mph).

I also had some problem to make him understand I wanted minimum soil disturbance so it is possible that the settings on the drill where not optimal.

@Vernon I'd be interested to know how the grass is coming along. Do you have any new photos?
Any pest problems rear their head ?
Sorry don't have any more photos. It all came up quite nicely but never really got going and I think the slugs took a good chunk of it. Had it been done a bit earlier in the year it may have been better as early October is not great for grass seed. Was for a customer and the drilling was my only part in it, which at the time I felt was a good job. Grass we drilled direct into maize stubble with the vaderstad at a similar time has come very well.

@Wessland any yield difference?

have you done it again?

thanks
Yield was actually slightly higher than normal and exceptionally high protein, but it was a good year (until harvest when it started to rain for weeks). Have bought a Gaspardo Gigante now. Did not manage to drill any winter wheat, it was too wet.
