Best side-mower?

What is the best make of side-mower? Looking for about 2m width that can cut down into ditches and face the sides of hedges back as well as field verges. Ideally needs something that is quite heavy duty because our last one has been quite unreliable.

Also will need a new 3m flail mower to do grass / flower mixes and I was wondering if there is a machine that will do both these jobs in one. Having had a quick look, I'm not sure that there is, but keen for advice.

I’ve got a used muthing 2.5m in stock. It’s ok on 110hp but really it wants a much heavier tractor. 2.5m at full side reach is a proper big lump.

Muthing are the dogs doo dahs of flails though

I see
Don't have any front PTOs on our tractors. When you say a reach mower, what exact type do you mean? We already have a Spearhead hedge-cutter.
Ah I see. My error thought you perhaps wanted just one machine for everything. I must say I find a side mower not that convenient for hedging, I feel far "too close". Probably just me.

I was also thinking if there was one to do everything, but a hedge-cutter is too slow to do brews and ditches, and given the August ban on hedge-cutting we have found that a side-mower works really well and can be put on and off more quickly than a hedge-cutter.

Also agree on doing upright hedges. The one we had to date was very difficult to control the angle of and tended to flop down on the hedge. Also couldn't get it far enough away. Would look for improvements on both those things on a new machine.
