Gaskets and loose parts from them have all been fine, in my experience.

You can’t but pattern tinwork from ANYONE and expect it to fit first time, though - everyone knows that! A grinder, drill, dollies and a planishing hammer are essential.

it was not me that said it ... I only repeated what an elderly farmer told me and that was also at Welshpool Smithfield which is good place for finding out what is going on as well as selling animals... I want to say that very soon I will be overhauling the engine in my old Dexta and I will not be using Agriline parts

The agriline stuff is ok for bits and bobs but I'm pleased that when we rebuilt or 1210s engine we used bepco parts. 5000hrs later she is still going strong.

Not overtightening either, even tried different cover and still itleaks!tried replacement gasket and it fekn leaks!
Usual problems include, Screws over tightened, pushing screw holes through gasket, or said holes not being dressed back flat before fitting. load spreading washers missing.
Gasket should be attached to the rocker cover, with a good contact adhesive, to make sure it stays in place. crankcase compression, and/or blocked breathers.

Think it narrowed down to crankcase compression, old beast is breathing bit heavy ,could be the problem ,breathed pipe not blocked ,

Having rebuilt a number of oldies and 3 FE35 4 Cylinder models I have had real problems with the latest FE35, would it start after full rebuild new injectors and pump serviced?? NO got her running with a spray of easy start, smoked like a train ran rough, stripped her down re checked averything and the same, bought myself a compression test kit and found only 200 to 225 psi (Dry) on all pots, followed up with wet test and had around 300 on all pots, stripped her down decided the Agriline pistons and liners not up to the job so replaced with Sparex, compession test dry giving 330 to 360 psi, now she is running like a sewing machine, starts reasonable wel and .hardly smokes, nightmare over!! for now at least.

Are we not cutting a rod for our own backs? It's a pain in the arse sending stuff back for a refund, but if everyone did it, we wouldn't be asked to accept this rubbish. The trouble is. most suppliers will agree to giving a refund (as the law requires under distance selling regulations) but won't pay for return postage.

There is also sometimes the ability to leave negative feeback, but even Ebay has made that more difficult. I was brought up believing that complaining about poor service is a duty with the explanation that the boss probably doesn't know about it and what he doesn't know about he can't put right. Is that such a bad philosophy?

Fully agree.
