19mm so far over the last 2 days .
How much more will be too much, locally, MrNoo?
Got to the stage here now when anything at all will only threaten the up-coming record-breaking early harvest, this year's most likely remaining claim to fame.

The ground is still pretty dry, did notice water laying in the tram lines in places, could take another 20mm I would think, crops seemed to have held on well. I see they forecast between 70-80mm over this w-end for our area re thunderstorms, that would be too much but we'll see how we go. Still got the floatations on the sprayer!!How much more will be too much, locally, MrNoo?

Propino competing with old permanant pasture in my pasture cropping experiment View attachment 675492
will see how it goes but i dont have high hopes for it tbh
Its 3 acres of permanant pasture i just drilled some leftover barley seed into it to see what happens. Grazed it to the ground with sheep, drilled it on the 13th of this month and grazed it after for 6 days then pulled the sheep out. Not sure how it will work would have prefered oats or something a bit more vigorous but im hoping it will make an ok wholecrop. Ive tried 9 acres into a sprayed off field and another 4 into a field that was sprayed after drilling too to see how both work. I know everyone says you shouldnt put cereals into grass but...Tell us more about this please!
Could do with a proper dry spell
That's what I wanted to see. Reinforces my impressions. I would say however on my kinder fields the Propino has picked up a lot.View attachment 675920 View attachment 675916Both pictures in same field 10 yards apart
Same drilling date and inputs
Propino vs planet
My spring barley is just about in the rows .
Im pleased we didnt drill the last block of spring barley - otherwise it would only have seen about 3mm of rain before todays 7mm. Last 20ac of oats arent looking too pretty either.
looking good.Linseed really cracking on now. Will be interested to see how the cross drilled bit does.
looking good.
Should get our last field drilled tomorrow.
Spring oats. Undersown, will end up as wholecrop. What with ?
