seem to be permanently ill nowadays and I’ve got a new bug I’d like some help identifying!

A week ago it started with a raging cold, sore nose but not so much throat, a cough that I couldn’t get anything up but it wasn’t dry. Felt like I was going to die sat night with pain all down my ribs one side and a raging temp of 39c.
Been coughing stuff up and pain went on mon, snorting green out of my nose even today as well as the cough.

Last nigh though : itchy rash all over, not too distinctive but just looked like sunburn. Mainly on back, sides, arms and chest. This morning my faces is swollen!

What are we talking? Chicken pox, Scarlett fever, hand and foot (had this six months ago though)
I’m getting better I think but would be interested too know, I believe @Old Boar might be experienced in these things (y)

Thanks all. Scarlett fever possibly according to the doc. Got some antibiotics (possibly the fifth scrip this year!) just in case. It’s better today but still have itchy legs and palms.

Saying that the only thing we caught from children was the odd stomach bug. I wouldn't say either of us were unwell for periods of time and the knock on effects of antibiotics aren't good. Doesn't it take 6 months for the microbiome to recover after popping pills? Start watching your diet get more fermented foods and less white carbs. Make sure the house isn't overly cleaned and take out all cleaning products that arnt necessary. I cant remember the children picking up everything either perhaps they need to roll in some muck and get someone dirt under their nails. Stay strong

You usually start with a sore throat for Scarlet Fever as it is a bacterial infection that usually follows a sore throat. I would go for some blood tests and ask for a full range, just to be sure it is not something else. There are a couple of other things that mimic the flushing skin, so get yourself checked.

Thanks OB, all long cleared up now thankfully. Took maybe three days after the start of ab’s for the itchy to go but still felt rubbish for a while.

I remember a few years ago I had orf on my thumb and got a very similar rash a some sort of secondary infection.
