Marshall 804

Afternoon chaps.

We have a Marshall 804 that we use as hobby farmers and for keeping the place tidy and have got a Bomford B457 Hedge Cutter to go on the back of it.

According to Bomford there was a top link support kit available to fit a range of Leyland and Marshall tractors (amongst others) to prevent damage to the back end of the tractor in the event of the cutter moving.

I've attached the diagram from Bomford below but am struggling to find anybody who knows anything about them.

Does anyone have one they could send me detailed photographs and measurements of or does anyone have one they want to part with?

Thanks,

David.

Just make the top and bottom parts separately, set them up on the tractor, then weld them together. Easy!

Making one had always been the plan but the back of the tractor looks nothing like what's in that diagram which is why I was hoping someone might know a bit more about them then I do!

I do wonder if one of the newer systems Bomford use could be made to fit our tractor and cutter.

Had another look at the your diagram (found the enlarge button) and I think they want to spread the load on the top link casing and use the top lid bolts as well as the top link pin. So any bracket you make catching the top bolts (as many as you can) and fitting into the top link jaw will achieve what they intended. Then consider making or copying a modern A frame from that to the bottom links for stability.

Thanks guys, I think I've got an idea of how it fits together now. Will have a look at the back of the tractor properly at the weekend. If anyone has any pictures of the original just to get an idea of the gauge and shape I'd be grateful for a look.
