Hi Guys I am sure there is someone out there that can shed a bit of light on my problem, being new to any John deere myself,
I know this is an older tractor, I have acquired it for a few occasional tasks. While topping with it yesterday and today the tractor went really well until about half way through the afternoon when on tick over the back end filter light on the dash came on, at this point the power steering fades away. If you increase the revs slightly the light goes out and steering slowly reappears, also stopping and restarting the tractor restores normality for a while. Is this a filter issue or could it be something more sinister?
Secondly being as the hydraulics are closed centre do I need to change a separate spool block that I want to run(containing a ferther 4 services) off one of the tractor spools. The block in question used to run on a ford 10 series tractor with open centre hydraulics. Can I just plug it in to the John Deere or not? The John deere does have a low pressure return to the filter housing behind the rear wheel.
Thank you for any advise, I am sure you guys know a lot more than me on this!
