I've always used my name, and others on TFF either do likewise or are happy to self-identify.

Research demonstrates that online opinions and attitudes are more polite, and honest, when this is done.

This wouldn't occur if people used their real names.

It would make the forum a better place.

In the meantime, perhaps 'Rob' will provide his proper name and address so that I may take this issue up with him privately?

I'm shy. It's as simple as that.
My online name is a version of the name given to one confident cow in my late suckler herd which, oddly enough, lends the memory of the confidence she had to me.

not if you don't want to because its not a requirement to join TFF
I do remember one member thought he was really clever when he found out my name, though I would rather be called Steve than Stephen as I told him :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I was taken aback to see, today, that I am described by an anonymous poster as struck-off and having a disreputable legal career. It's quite untrue, of course, and any people who know me will know this. But my point is that many others, who do not, will wonder about it.

Well I agree with you.
But,there is always a but,it won't happen, not because of the odd person on the forum that is unpleasant, more so some person at large with an issue with farmers, think, animal rights, badgerists and more.
