Finished the barleys - now on to the oats.

Yield and quality still as predicted last month, so far (see above).

Disappointing it is, very, all round, but not unexpected.

edit :- currently 6 days ahead of 1976 (finished barley that time 17th July). Not a very good omen for what's to come.

Very surprised to hear your oats are fit as I haven't seen any so far that are near harvest.

Started my light labs barley today; glacier, a real let down. Well under the expected 3 ton on this land. Very uneven seed size. Plenty of needles. Hopefully the other 2 row and 6 rows will do better on heavier land. Straw v bleached. Moisture got down to 12.5.

Finished the first field of cassia.im confident it's done 3t/a.c. and has produced ridiculous amounts of straw and for the year has produced a reasonable sample.

Late this evening we moved back into some hybrid we tried this AM and it's threshing out much better after some sun but it's not such a good sample and I don't think it's going to beat the cassia it may be equal at very best.

Our glacier looks like being the same, not sure on yield yet only half way through the first field, but guessing it's nearer 2 and a half at a guess, also struggling to stop it going over the back with it being poor grain:meh:

Yes same with losses. Seed going over not big enough to register but I guess if it’s that light I don’t want it in the sample tbh. Will be some green strips appearing if it ever rains again

I’m disappointed with Belfry yield, some ears are dwarf like and only half-length and others plants around it have full length ears... have you noticed that? Wondering if I’ve cocked up or it’s varietal

Experienced this last year with Belfry, albeit it in a very dry year on sandy ground. Have moved on this year.

Funky giving a decent bit of pink straw.
