I’m in hospital!

I am literally in my hospital bed, right now.

I had my tonsils removed and one nostril quarterised at around 11.30AM.

Other than the odd cold and bout of SARS, Ebola and bird flu, tonsillitis is the only thing I ever get. It’ll hit me between 4 and 8 times per year - a real pest when I need to be at work.

It’s sore, alright... but a stitch in time saves nine - a week or two of pain, plus a a few daws or a week off work is far less that the accrued discomfort and time lost if I didn’t have them out.

Best of all, I can have all the jelly and ice cream I want! :hungry::hungry::hungry:

Did you have to push to have it done? I wanted mine out, as I'm the same, get it 3/4/5 times a year. Doc wasn't interested.
Isn't that one of the ops they're talking about dropping to free up resources?
Get well soon btw (y)

I did have to push - they wanted six recorded cases in a twelve month period.

Before that, I’d only go to the doctor when it was a bacterial episode, to get a course of antibiotics. There was no point calling in if it was viral, as there was nothing they could do.

I only had five, typically! I spoke to the consultant, demonstrating that I was a sensible chap rather than some grotty screaming prole, and they booked me in immediately. He was a good sort (y)

Get well soon!

And watch those night gowny things they make you wear. The sight of that made me smile. Last time I was in hospital, I was walking down the ward when I saw one of those rather pompous business types on the phone laying down the law to what I suppose was a junior. Little did he realise that all was exposed to the world at the rear! If he had, it might have punctured his obviously inflated ego!

After I’d put mine on, I asked for a blanket so I could lay on the bed without showing the surviving remnants of my genitalia to the guy across the way.

The nurse informed me that as I was having an operation on my throat, it wasn’t necessary to remove my trousers and underwear.

NOW she tells me!

Haha, that reminds me when my wife was having IVF. Of course, I went along for the egg collection procedure. Was supplied mandatory gown, and duly wore. A nurse then asked why I had taken off all my clothes, when I only had to wear it over my clothes! My backside was hanging out too:asshat::wtf::facepalm:

I always get the viral infection of tonsillitis, so nothing I can do, but it sure does make you feel completely sh1te, which is a bummer when there's only numero uno to do all the jobs...:dead:
