I always get the viral infection of tonsillitis, so nothing I can do, but it sure does make you feel completely sh1te, which is a bummer when there's only numero uno to do all the jobs...

It just makes you feel bloody lousy

It rarely stopped me going to work but it was painful and very distracting - not ideal when loading machinery. Today's procedure was the right way to go, I reckon.

It revealed another problem, though - high blood pressure

I had em out when I was a kid , couldn't talk for 10 days ... much to everyones pleasure , f**kin sore though .

My daughter was asked to keep a diary by the consultant after she had been hospitalised because her throat was so swollen she couldn't swallow antibiotics or food. Operated on 6 months later while still at uni in Twickenham.

Do you get lots of tonsil stones as well?

My nurse is nice - it’s the same one that looked after me earlier in the year, when I was having my wedding tackle removed and thrown in the bin.

Count your blessings. The old fella that was in our place before us told the story of having his tonsils removed in the 20's. He was tied to a kitchen chair and the doctor cut them out with a pair of kitchen scissors!!! Very painful but he said the upside was he ate nothing but custard or ice cream for a fortnight........

I didn't have any of those. I don't have much of anything, now!
