@tw15, blimey that's looking good. Roughly how big do the plants get?

I've got some of the same ones growing on a trial plot this year, but they haven't done much, and what they have done has been undermined by rabbits.

Hopefully about 2 -2 and a half ft tall come harvest . As it is the first year growing them it is a big learning curve. The taller the better so pods should be higher up the stem they are still dragging moisture but a good rain would really help them as it would everything else .

Do you still need those scarecrows? Looks like it's well beyond any pigeon damage. I thought once the cotyledons were done with the hairy true leaves weren't so tasty.

Soya update 12/7/2018 . Still looking ok and after the dry weather of very little rain looks like it is still just finding moisture a good rain will do the world of good.
Pods are forming nicely and the flowers don't seem to mind the intense heat . Well it is from hot dry climates so it should like this weather (time will tell mind ) .
