classic lorry breakdown cover / tyre repair / recovery insurance?

Hello,

If you own a classic lorry for private use in the uk, what do people do with regard to having some kind of road side break down cover, recovery home and tyre repairs?

For example: what options are out there to give peace of mind? ….. lets say its 7pm, the prop shaft falls off and your stuck on the side of the M5, 300 miles from home.
What do you do?
How do you avoid being stung by some local recovery firm?
What good national repair help schemes are out there?

What do one man band lorry owners advise?

I used to have a TK horsebox, last time I checked Adrian Flux did break down on top of your insurance which I used once or twice and was very good. It was less than £200 including the insurance.

As well as Adrian Flux who definitely do offer breakdown cover on classic buses, so probably do classic lorries too (https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/classic-bus/)

I wouldn't touch Adrian flux. They ripped me off big time with classic car insurances. My escort in the avatar gradually crept up to over £400. Plus you had to pay £20 every couple of years for an insurance valuation.
Went with Hagerty. Now have three classics on one policy with breakdown cover for £385, which I just renewed. Been with them several years now.

Caravan adds a bit, its under £100 for just the old lorry.
