Agricultural matters

I have just written a PM to somebody I have "known" for more than a few years through various farming forums. In that PM I wrote that I would be making a post in this section of the forum. I abbreviated the word Agricultural to Ag and was not allowed to post becasue that abbreviation, followed by the word matters is a banned word.

How and why can this be? Surely it is a common expression. I suspect it is some "political" thing connected with the internal wranglings of the forum and its members of which I am not aware, but it seems rather silly to me to ban an expression in general use.

I would appreciate an explanation from the powers that be on TFF.

Thanks. That explains it. But............. I can post FWi and BFF.

Edit: Just realised as I was posting that that was the one David Evans set up. I had an email about it from him a few weeks ago.

There are good reasons why the PM system should not be abused. Sadly that means common words are now in the spam filter. It's been done to death on various threads on here as you are probably aware - or soon can be

My preference would, of course, be for the use of PM and this forum in a straight forward way to discuss agricultural topics

What could be simpler?

I was not abusing the PM system, and this is not the first time you have made unfounded accusations against me. Sufficiently so that on one occasion I requested you to withdraw such an accusation. Of course, you refused to do so. Could not admit to being in error. From my very first post you have been somewhat rude and antagonistic.

You are very much in error again.

What has been "done to death"? Once more you make the accusation that I am "probably" aware of whatever it is. I am not.

For your information, I was using the PM in a straightforward way to discuss ag topics. I said in the PM that I intended to make a post on this section of the forum - its title is Agricultural Matters. I shortened the first word. No doubt someone on TFF has the ability to check what I actually posted to verify that. Nothing is secret.

Indeed I would have no hesitation in posting my PM on the open forum to let anyone jusge whether or not I was abusing the system. Naturally I would seek the concurrence of the recipient before doing so.

I was not accusing YOU of abusing the PM system. Read my post again

Balderdash. I do not know how you can be so disingenuous. You quote me and claim you are not referring to me. Typical of my experience of your responses to my posts over the years. You try reading some of the responses you have made to me in the past.

Edit: I note you have moved the thread too. Less obvious where it is now I suppose. No matter, I have my answer as to why the expression is banned.

Read it again. You've posted asking about the PM word spam filter. You ask why certain words or structures trigger it. I explained. It's sad you can't post in a PM with certain word structures. This is because of abuse in the past. For goodness sake accept YOU were not accused of anything. You're an innocent caught up in the repercussions of others. I won't be commenting again

You had your answer to your opening post and this is now in Community Feedback
