Had 3 of these gone off. less than 18 months old.
3 years warrenty on them & changed (by local wholesaler) with no quibble.
Like to think the manufacturers could make something that would last

Out of 4 in the workshop there is one left working after a year, halogen floodlight bulbs would have lasted longer.
Problem with leds the 200,000 hour 'lifetime' (or whatever) is purely hypothetical. In practice the internal power supply fails, they overheat from poor heat dissipation or one of the multiple chips is faulty and overloads the rest. There's a lot to go wrong compared with a bit of metal that gets hot. You have to get high quality branded units and that's expensive and the odd one will still fail

Electrician fitted 4 here around the house less than 12 months ago, 3 on PIR. Not cheap ones, he recommended them from local supplier. One has hissy fits and comes on with snow, one comes on with high winds and another now will only detect with the PIR when it feels like! Luckily I bough them myself from the wholesalers therefore need to dig the invoices out this week.

I have had a 30w and 10w one from eBay that have been on every night for about 6yrs with no issues. I suppose it is a bit of luck of the draw.

Thanks Steevo for tagging us in.
We only purchase from high end companies giving us the ability to sell high quality lighting without the problem of returns. The 30W or 50W Flood light is a popular choice. These lights are of very high quality with a 5 year warranty and have a polycarbonate lens, so no issues around animals. A useful tip when buying any Led product is always to look for the Lumen per watt output lm/w. Some lights may seem more expensive but the high lm/w and the build quality make them as competitive as a cheaper one. Please take a look at:https://www.marketplace.farm/farm-workshop-tools-and-clothing/lighting/

Try ledhut or light rabbit ,pir from anyone I have tried are iffy only buy with 5 year warranty and expect to change a few, having said that got a 10w for a friend of ebay for about a tenner about 6 year ago and the thing is still going maybe lower wattages last longer due to less heat ? We fitted about 30 strip leds ( quality supposedly)with 5 year warranty about 5 year ago and have replaced about 1.5 bulbs for everyone fitted! Order online it’s easier to find invoice for replacements
